Friday Funnies 9/25/2020

September 25, 2020

Since I’m new to this blogging thing, it’s hard to know how long it will take to find my writing groove. While I ponder some ideas, topics, frequency, and other bloggish concerns over the weekend, I’ve decided (for now, at least) to devote Friday blogs to some of my favorite political laughs from the week.

As a lifelong Hoosier, I grew up on local Gary Varvel’s political cartoons and his are still some of my favorites. As a borderline Millennial (don’t worry, I identify as Gen X), I’ve come to embrace the rise of the meme. Then there’s the fact that a handful of modern leftists can’t help but generate hilarity every time they give an interview.

I hope you enjoy this first edition of Friday Funnies. I can only imagine what material will be out there for next week’s edition after next Tuesday’s first Presidential debate!

Joe’s swing may be so out of practice that he can’t knock a tee’d up softball out of the infield. It’s going to be fun to watch him try during the last six weeks of the campaign, and I guarantee I’ll post some of the whiffs on Friday Funnies!

Joe, wow, speaking of whiffs. I could be wrong, but I’m not sure your pelletized chicken manure was what Julie had in mind to cut her farming regulations. Check this out from last week’s PA town hall Q&A. #awkward

Speaking of funny videos, Nancy Pelosi wants to wish you a “Good morning, Sunday morning”….

Considering his interview performances to date, I don’t think we’ll have to worry about this scenario after a couple of presidential debates…

It wouldn’t be a 2020 funnies page without any pandemic jokes…

Babylon Bee was the satire site that I didn’t know I had been looking for my entire life. It has been keeping me laughing for years. I’m thankful to them for this helpful guide. Safety First!

I’d hate to lose readers already, but this one is just funny.

Since we opened the blog with SCOTUS talk, how about this cartoon for a reminder of days gone by.

It’s true.

This is a couple weeks outdated at this point, but it doesn’t look like CNN’s mostly peaceful protests are going to end before the election.

To be clear, I CAN handle the truth and I hope to bring it, often.

Have a great weekend, everyone.
